With the season all but over, the 49ers know the road ahead of Leeds United is not going to be easy. The Whites secured another season in the top flight.
Now, they have to prepare adequately in order to keep themselves as a consistent Premier League side. Daniel Farke’s men still have one game left in the season, away to West Ham.
The club have a lot of decisions to make going into next season, especially when it comes to contracts. Ethan Ampadu and Pascal Struijk are entering the last year of their deals, while Karl Darlow is out of contract next month.
Daniel Farke’s contract has become a huge talking point in the last couple of weeks. He recently said he would be delighted to continue at Elland Road, but if only the club match his ambition.
Both parties agreed to push contract talks till after the season, and now fans will be waiting for the outcome.
Leeds United eye move for Liverpool star
One thing the Leeds United boss has made clear in his rant about his future is preparing for next season. Particularly, adding more quality to the squad – which he called for last summer but only got limited returns.
According to Football Insider, Leeds could push to sign Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott. The 23-year old has had a nightmare season after joining Aston Villa on loan.
Unai Emery’s side have opted not to play the Englishman due to the obligation to buy clause in his contract, which would see Villa pay £35 million after 10 games.
Per the report, Elliott is not in Arne Slot’s plans heading into next season and could look for a way out.

Where could Harvey Elliott fit for Daniel Farke?
The Liverpool star offers a lot of flexibility as a player; he can fit in an advanced midfield role or out wide. Which means that he can easily slot into Farke’s system in the 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 or the 3-5-2.
Elliott possesses great touch and control in tight spaces, and has an eye for a killer pass. This Leeds team does not have many players with creativity, so a deal for the 23-year old would improve the Whites in that area.
For a reported £35 million, it would be a steep asking price, but after his failed loan spell, Liverpool could be willing to reduce their asking price. The Whites need more quality heading into next year, and Harvey Elliott could be the answer.
