Leeds United are running out of time to strengthen their squad further this summer as the transfer window will slam shut on Tuesday night.

Daniel Farke made it apparent after the 1-1 draw against Brentford on Saturday that he would like to see a couple more new signings before the transfer window closes.

The Leeds boss indicated that there is a lack of depth in certain areas of his squad and he would love to bring in a few more fresh faces in the next day or so.

Leeds are active in the market for more players, and the club are pushing to improve their forward line in the next 24 to 36 hours as things stand.

Fabrizio Romano confirms a late Leeds United push for a Premier League star

Chelsea rejected two loan approaches from Leeds for Mudryk earlier this month as they continue to search for a new club for the winger before the transfer window shuts.

The Ukrainian is now back in action after serving a 20-month suspension for a doping offence, and Chelsea are keen for him to get regular game time this season as he works his way back to full fitness and sharpness.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, Leeds are still very much in the race for the winger, and have not given up on the prospect of signing him.

What strengthens their hand is the player’s willingness to continue playing in England, particularly in the Premier League, despite Chelsea’s attempts to send him to sister club Strasbourg.

Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Leeds United are not giving up, from what I am hearing. They still want Mykhailo Mudryk.

“It’s true that Chelsea would be happy to see the player at Strasbourg, but Mudryk has decided to play in England and to continue in English football after not being available for a few years.

“Now he would like to play in England.”

Mudryk’s arrival will trigger Wilfried Gnonto’s exit

Wilfried Gnonto was in the squad in the 1-1 draw against Brentford on Saturday and remained an unused substitute. But his time at Leeds could be coming to an end.

Fiorentina are in talks with Leeds to sign the Italian winger, but the Whites do not want to lose him without securing a replacement.

If Murdryk or another wide forward joins Leeds in the coming hours, the club would be open to accepting an offer for Gnonto before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
