Leeds United had a difficult journey before their return to the Premier League after being relegated in 2023. Daniel Farke took over and was given the task of bringing the club back up to the top flight.

His first season was impressive, and almost successful as the Whites reached the play-off final.

Unfortunately for Leeds, they lost that final and the aftermath is what the club’s fans will remember. That summer saw the club lose multiple key first team players, most of whom were snapped up by Premier League clubs.

Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter were the names that caught the headlines.

But a lot of other players in the squad left Elland Road in a summer that saw the club rebuild. Leeds eventually made some smart signings and ended up winning the Championship to get promotion.

One of the players who left that summer is Glen Kamara.

The midfielder moved to France, where he played with Ligue 1 side Rennes. He left the Whites after the play-off defeat to Southampton a few years ago.

Daily Record are now reporting that the Finnish international is drawing interest from Queens Park Rangers in the Championship. QPR have already signed four players in this summer window.

They have recruited Tariq Lamptey and Boy Kemper on free transfers, and have added two goalkeepers including Manchester City’s Pierce Charles.

The club finished in the middle of the pack last season in 15th place, far of the play-off places. Julien Stephan will be aiming for a higher finish as he continues to add more signings.

Leeds’ own midfield target is in limbo

The 49ers have done a decent job so far this summer.

Leeds have signed Harry Wilson, who will provide an injection of quality in the attack. Tarik Muharemovic will be the direct replacement for Pascal Struijk who joined Brighton last month.

The attack and defence have received some upgrades, but the club have to add to midfield too.

Their major target is Shea Charles, and Southampton are playing hardball over a deal. Leeds have had three bids rejected so far, and are ready to walk away from the table.

Per reports, they are adamant that they will not go beyond their last offer.

Whether they return to this deal later in the transfer window remains a mystery.
