Leeds United have started the season on a wonderful note in the Premier League, with most signings hitting the ground running. The same cannot be said about other players who left Elland Road in the transfer window.

Tarik Muharemovic has surprised everyone around the club with his impressive performances so far.

Nico Elvedi and James Trafford have also earned rave reviews from their start to the season. It looks like the business the 49ers did in the summer is paying off in a big way.

The new signings came in for players that could not be promised first team football this season.

Lucas Perri, Wilfried Gnonto, Joel Piroe and Largie Ramazani had to make way for there to be space in the squad.

Joel Piroe is already off to a decent start with West Ham in the Championship; the striker has scored three goals in seven games.

Largie Ramazani also has a goal and an assist in his last two outings for Burnley. Wilfried Gnonto has yet to hit the ground running at Fiorentina after they hired a new coach.

And as of this week, Lucas Perri is having a difficult start to life in Turin.

Torino coach Ignazio Abate has urged the Brazilian to improve after he made another error for the club. Perri made a bad pass which lead to Donyell Malen’s opener for Roma on Monday night.

Abate said after the game that Perri must improve on his decision making.

“He needs to get back to peak form, but he’s a top-notch goalkeeper.” the Torino boss mentioned (quotes via Cuore Toro).

“He needs to improve his decision-making, and he’ll improve.”

Lucas Perri’s start to life in Italy is worrying

The Brazilian left Elland Road on loan this summer for the chance to be first choice elsewhere. Torino fully pursued him with the intent of making him their first choice keeper.

And yet in his first few games, the performances have been mixed.

Even though he has been great in some games, the lows have appeared; like the fumble in the game against Fiorentina and the error in the recent Roma game.

Torino coach has praised Perri for how he has bounced back from these so far, but one wonders how long it will take for the keeper to be benched. If he continues making errors, it might not take much long.

And that would jeopardize any attempts to sell him next summer.
