Leeds United look as though they will still be a Premier League side come next season.
Daniel Farke and his players have done a remarkable job up to this point, and barring a significant downturn in form, the Whites will likely finish above the 40-point mark for the campaign.
One of the benefits of staying in the top flight is that it allows Leeds to poach some of the best players from the sides that go down, with Wolves defender Ladislav Krejci reportedly a target for United.
However, the latest reports suggest Krejci may not be the only player who could potentially swap Molineux for Elland Road in the summer.
Leeds reportedly interested in four Wolves players
Krejci and the rest of his Wolves teammates were handily defeated by Farke’s men at Elland Road over the weekend, with the Whites running out as 3-0 winners over the side who look set to finish last in the Premier League.
Despite this, the 49ers are seemingly still interested in signing Krejci as well as three of his teammates.
According to reports from TEAMtalk, Leeds want to sign Kerjci, who has also attracted interest from Brighton, but United have also reportedly enquired about the likes of Matheus Mane, Joao Gomes and Andre, with all of the aforementioned players being expected to leave in the summer.
Krejci is also said to have a relegation release clause in his contract, which could potentially make things straightforward for Leeds should they decide that the Czech international is the defender they want to bring in this summer.
The other three players mentioned are set to attract significant interest in the summer, meaning a deal for any of them will be “hard to pull off”; however, Leeds have helped their chances by communicating their interest to Wolves early.
Data suggests Ladislav Krejci has been solid this season
Whilst Wolves’ struggles this season have been well documented, Krejci is one of the few players who have somewhat impressed at times this season.
The 27-year-old would provide some much-needed cover and competition for Pascal Struijk, with the Dutchman being the only left-footed centre back on the club’s books at the minute.
Whilst Struijk would likely remain the first choice even if Krejci did sign, there is not a lot between the duo’s data this season.
- In the Premier League this season, Krejci averages one tackle per game, whilst Struijk averages 1.1 tackles per game
- Struijk averages 0.9 interceptions per game, whilst Krejci averages 1.2 interceptions per 90
- When it comes to passing, Krejci averages 40.4 passes per game, with a success rate of 84%; on the other hand, Struijk averages 49 passes per game, with an 89% pass accuracy (Sofascore)
If Leeds want to be a stable Premier League outfit for many years to come, the 49ers will know they need to improve Farke’s squad depth even further, and the signing of Krejci could certainly address one of the key holes within the Leeds squad that needs to be filled.
