Things have developed very quickly at Leeds United over the weekend. With the transfer deadline on Tuesday, the club will be busy handling offers from all angles.

The Whites held Brentford to a draw in their first game at Elland Road this season.

Leeds continued their impressive start to the campaign with that result. And now the club need to do their business off the pitch if they want to improve their chances this season.

Over the weekend, it was reported that Wilfried Gnonto was set to leave the club.

The news came as a bit of surprise considering how late the approach was in the transfer window.

Fiorentina initially made an enquiry for the winger over the weekend, it a shocking move.

That then developed into serious discussions for a transfer. Things have since advanced, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the Serie A side have agreed a loan deal for the Italian.

This means that Daniel Farke could lose a piece of his first team early in the season.

Leeds wanted a replacement if they would consider a move for Gnonto, and they may have found one.

The Whites have gone back into talks over a move for Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk according to Sky Sports’ Zinny Boswell. Leeds are still working on a move to sign Mudryk, despite the Blues ending talks over a week ago.

Boswell reports that the player’s minutes on loan proves to be the stumbling block in negotiations.

Chelsea want the winger to play regularly, but it seems that Leeds cannot guarantee that to conclude a deal. With Tuesday fast approaching, a transfer can still be sanctioned.

49ers leaving things too late

Last summer, the Whites completed a lot of their transfers before deadline day.

This time around, things have moved a bit too slowly. There is the factor of Leeds approaching ‘higher’ quality players than last year, which would mean a lot of negotiations.

But the team could have done much better to complete deals earlier.

Now with this Gnonto situation, the 49ers have to sort out a replacement with just hours left until the window closes. Hopefully the team can get this transfer over the line.
