Leeds fans will remember the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace in the second half of the season. The result came in a stretch of games where the Whites desperately needed to put some points on the board.
Daniel Farke’s men went into that international break with just two points from a possible 12.
The draw against Palace was even more frustrating as the team could have gotten a win. Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed a penalty in the first half after a great spell from the away side.
Then things went from bad to worse as Gabriel Gudmundsson was shown two yellow cards and given his marching orders. The Premier League Key Match Incidents panel later reviewed the incident and voted it as a wrong decision.
Leeds United finished in 14th place this past season, just two points above Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace set to appoint shocking managerial signing
All things considered, both Leeds and Palace had incredible seasons. The Whites survived relegation and reached their first ever FA Cup semi-final in over 30 years.
Crystal Palace ended their season by winning the UEFA Europa Conference League. The trophy was ultimately the parting gift by manager Oliver Glasner, who will leave this summer.
Glasner will leave the London club after winning the FA Cup, the Community Shield, and the Conference League.
Per Sky Sports, he will be replaced by Pierre Sage who was in charge of Ligue 1 side Lens last season. Sage guided his team to a second place finish in the French league, and also won the Coupe de France.
The news comes as a bit of a shock; a manager leaving a side doing well in Europe to come and manage a Palace side who finished in 15th place last season.
The reports indicate that the deal is not yet done, but talks are being held over Pierre Sage taking over the London club ahead of next season.

Leeds have to solve their own managerial problem
It has been weeks since the season ended and there is no word yet on Daniel Farke’s future.
His contract expires next year, and it was reported during the campaign that he would hold talks when the season concluded.
In the final games of the season, Farke made it clear in his press conferences that he wants to stay at Elland Road. However, the club need to match his ambition on the pitch.
Leeds spent £100 million on players last summer, and would have to repeat that if they want the team to succeed next season.
