Leeds United will have a lot of decisions to make ahead of pre-season. The club will be preparing for their second season of top flight football ahead.

This summer will see a whole host of players return to Elland Road, with question marks over their futures.

Max Wober, Mateo Joseph, Joe Gelhardt and Largie Ramazani were among the players who were sent out on loan last summer. Unfortunately, none of their loan clubs triggered their option to buy.

They left the club in the first place in search of playing time.

But things did not go according to plan, and now the 49ers will have to decide what to do with them. Departures will also be very key to a successful transfer window, with the new Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) rules.

Leeds United want to resolve 26-year old’s exit quickly

It has been revealed that Leeds United star Joe Gelhardt’s exit this summer could be stalled.

Per Alan Nixon, the player’s wages will be a concern, as he is set for a pay-rise. Hull City are ready to walk away and look for ”cheaper” options this summer, if a move is not possible.

Isaac Schmidt is another Leeds player who was out on loan last season.

The 26-year old only managed 19 appearances for Werder Bremen last season. He played 677 minutes, which is more than he got in his first season at Elland Road.

TEAMtalk is reporting that the Whites are keen to move him, after Bremen refused the option to buy him.

The report says Leeds want to find a solution to Schmidt quickly, as he is currently not in the plans for next season.

Isaac Schmidt is another unfortunate signing by the 49ers

Leeds needed depth and cover at the left back position, which is why Schmidt was originally signed.

He was also able to play in multiple areas, including the wings. But he was not able to even get on the pitch, due to fitness and injury problems. His recent loan gave him some playing time, but he would not be really pleased.

As things stand, there is no way back for him at Elland Road.

The club view him as a squad player, and Gabriel Gudmundsson has the left back role nailed down. It is going to be difficult to see if the Swiss international does manage to stay at Elland Road.
