Leeds United finishing in 14th place surprised a lot of people after their predictions at the start of the campaign. Alan Shearer has given his thoughts on the club ahead of their game this weekend.
The Whites made drastic changes mid season, with Daniel Farke making a formation change.
That set off a key run for Leeds where they managed to pick a lot of points towards the end of the season. The results they got were enough to keep them afloat and see them finish high in the second half of the table.
And this season, they have surprised everyone with their start.
Farke’s side have gone unbeaten in the Premier League despite playing Newcastle, Brighton and Brentford in their first four games.

This weekend sees Leeds United in action again as they face Crystal Palace at Elland Road.
Their last home game saw them put four goals past Newcastle in a dominant win. The club sit in third place in the league and could enter the international break if they manage to get a result on Sunday.
Alan Shearer has given his thoughts on the game and the Whites’ start to the season.
“I have been really impressed with Leeds. I did think that they’d have a top half finish in the league and I still believe that,” Shearer wrote in his Metro column.
“The way they batted Newcastle in midweek was impressive. So, I’m going to go with a Leeds home win in this one.”

Leeds must keep the momentum going on Sunday
The international break kicks off after this round of games, meaning that teams are intent on entering the break on a high.
For clubs who have a lot of ambition, winning their game or avoiding defeat is the ideal result for them to build on when football resumes. Losing before the break could have complications.
It leaves fans and players in a bad mood until they are back in action weeks later.
So this Sunday, the Whites must play their heart out and try and get something against Crystal Palace. Looking at the table, Leeds do look like the favourites, but they must not underestimate Pierre Sage’s side.
The game could be a true test of character if Farke’s side want to replicate what they did last season.
