January is a few months away and some Premier League side will be keen to make changes to their squad. That may or may not involve Leeds United after what club chief Robbie Evans said.

Evans pointed out that the team will try and avoid January as much as possible.

The 49ers have not spent much in the winter window since they took over, and it could continue this year.

However, Evans did mention that an injury crisis could force their hand. Fans expected Leeds to find a striker during the summer window, but in the end, it was not a priority.

Three Leeds United players fighting to avoid January exits

With a few months to go till the winter window, some players are on the brink of leaving Elland Road.

After a slow start to the season, it will take a whole before they are able to convince Daniel Farke that they want to stay.

A mixture of factors could play a part in some players potentially leaving when January comes around. There are two main players who will no doubt be on the list if the chance for an exit arises.

The signs have been there for James since last year; he is no longer a starter in this team. He is also an awkward fit for Farke in his new system.

The winger is behind a lot of players in the pecking order, with Daniel Farke even suggesting that he could play wing backs fighting as a way to get him in the team.

James has started on the right foot this year, having already scored one goal.

He will be hoping his goalscoring during the international break translates to his performances in the team because January could see him leave.

Championship clubs are said to be keeping an eye on his situation in the coming months.

It was very unfortunate that injury cut his season short last year. He seemed to be the ideal profile Farke wanted for Premier League football.

A box-to-box player who can cover ground and contribute to goals.

Now he’s way down the pecking order, and has a lot to prove. Between now and January he will get chances to prove himself to Farke, and should take his chance.

Otherwise a move away could be the only option for him to get more minutes.
