The 49ers splashed the cash last summer as Leeds United brought in 10 new players for their Premier League return. Many changes were expected in the first team after the club got promoted.
Leeds spent £100 million in the market, but their recruitment was very smart and targeted. The team went after top level players in Europe’s top five leagues instead of shopping in the Championship.
Players like Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin arrived on very good deals.
These players became impactful starters in the team and helped drive the club to a 14th place finish. The Whites were briefly involved in the relegation battle, but managed to keep themselves afloat.
Simon Jordan makes bold Leeds United claim
Over the past few weeks, Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United has become the main topic. The German’s contract with the Whites expires in 2027.
He took the decision to postpone talks about a potential renewal to the summer, which is expected to go forward.
Farke has been very vocal about his future at the club and what he expects from the ownership. His comments however, have rubbed a few people the wrong way.
Simon Jordan has been speaking on this issue on talkSPORT, saying that he thinks Farke will leave when a ‘bigger’ job comes his way.
“They are not saying they don’t have ambition; they are saying be patient.
“First of all, you have got PSR that governs your club.
“Second, you need to make the right and educated decisions and not on the whims of a manager who will leave once something bigger and better comes along, and it suits him.
“So, it’s wonderful that he is playing to the gallery, but which gallery is he playing to? The Leeds fanbase and the media, and he is a fool.”

Simon Jordan has a point
Daniel Farke has been a loyal servant to Leeds United and has delivered on what he was hired to do. Back in 2023, he was tasked on bringing the team back to the top flight.
He has done exactly that and with the added bonus of keeping the team up in their first season.
Farke is right, calling out the ownership ahead of the summer. If Leeds want to stay up next season, then they need to make quality signings.
If they fail to deliver on that, the Leeds boss has every right to leave the club. And with the job he has done this season, some clubs may start putting him on their radar.
So any opening that suits him could be his next destination. The 49ers need to fix up to avoid losing Daniel Farke soon.
who is this Simon Jordon? is he connected with Leeds United ? if not why are you printing his comments I for one am sick and tired of various pundits making comments about United ex aston villa and arsnel players saying what leeds will win and what they wont as though they have inside info they should keep their thought to themselves if at all possible if they can stop their mouths flapping.
What an absolute piece of garbage journalism. A totally inaccurate headline. You should be ashamed of yourself.
