The news dominating the headlines around Leeds United these last couple of weeks has been around Daniel Farke. The 49ers have a key decision to make on the German’s future.

In the middle of the season, Farke agreed to postpone contract talks till after the season. His current deal at Elland Road runs until the summer of 2027.

This season, the Leeds boss has done an incredible job by keeping the club afloat, and getting them to an FA Cup semi-final.

In recent weeks he has been vocal about his future, and that he is keen to remain with the club.

However, he is adamant that the 49ers will need to match his ambition, and back him when it comes to player transfers.

Leeds United lose key club chief

One Leeds United employee who has already left the club ahead of this summer is Chief Business Officer Morrie Eisenberg.

Eisenberg has joined NWSL club San Diego Wave as their new Chief Executive Officer. He will begin his new role with the club in August.

He has been credited with securing the project to redevelop Elland Road Stadium, which has been approved as of this year.

Leeds United managing director Robbie Evans has spoken on Eisenberg’s departure from the club via The Athletic.

“While I am disappointed to see Morrie leave, I am grateful for his effort and impact over the last three years. Much as with players, when you employ excellent people who produce excellent results, sometimes the unfortunate effect is that they will attract interest elsewhere.

“Morrie and I first met three years ago in discussing if we should leave our old lives behind to try and help Leeds United return to its rightful place in English football. Three seasons later, he leaves with the club on an excellent trajectory. I hope Morrie is especially proud of his tireless work on the stadium expansion, which will benefit the club, supporters, and the community for generations to come.

“Morrie and his wonderful family depart with the best wishes of the club. He is welcome anytime if he tires of California sunshine and misses the Yorkshire weather!”

Club’s success may attract more suitors

Since the 49ers took over Leeds United, the club has undergone a massive transformation. On and off the pitch, a lot has gone into making the team what it is now.

Brand partnerships and commercial agreements have seen extra cashflow into the team, and the Elland Road re-development will provide an avenue for even more financial growth.

As Leeds continue to build themselves with the aim of being a consistent Premier League side, more eyes will fall on them.

And in the football world, people take notice. Clubs around the world will be keen on poaching more of Leeds’ employees, like Everton did with Angus Kinnear recently.
