Leeds United forward fuels Elland Road exit talk with latest hint

Leeds United have successfully sealed another season in the Premier League after a successful first campaign. They will be joined in the top flight next season by Hull City.

The Tigers had to wait for their opponent in the Championship play-off final because of the spygate scandal. The EFL kicked Southampton out after they were found guilty of spying on opponents.

So Middlesbrough were eventually the second team in the final after Hull. And when they played over the weekend, the game was tightly contested.

They exhausted the 90 minutes, but late in added time, Oli McBurnie popped up with the winner for the Tigers to send them up to the Premier League.

Leeds United star fuels talk of Elland Road exit

Hull City will now win over £200 million in prize money by winning promotion to the Premier League. This has now sparked conversations about the future of Joe Gelhardt.

The forward joined the Tigers on loan this year, after a successful spell during the back half of last season.

Gelhardt has proven to be one of the most important players in Hull’s colours – this season he has 15 goals and five assists in all competitions. And the club’s Director has already mentioned that there is interest from all parties.

Hull’s prize money could be more than enough to get a fee for the Leeds United man.

Joe Gelhardt has now fuelled talk of an exit after his latest post on Instagram. “F****** Premier League Tigers,” he captioned his post. He also liked the comments in the reply asking him to ”sign the contract.”

The 24-year old will return to Elland Road this summer, but as things stand, his future lies away from the Whites.

Joe Gelhardt’s success is Leeds’ gain

The biggest beneficiaries from Gelhardt’s success are Leeds United. What was just a loan deal for the duration of the season has now turned into a serious opportunity for a major transfer.

The 49ers might end up making a profit on the young player the club signed years ago.

His current level and contribution to the Hull team would have skyrocketed his value. And now that the Tigers have won millions in prize money, they can definitely afford to sign him.

Leeds will be hopeful that they can quickly agree a deal for the forward in the coming months.
