Pre-season friendlies have become a lucrative venture for Premier League clubs like Leeds United. Last season saw the team play some high profile games before their campaign in the top flight.
The Whites faced Villarreal, AC Milan and Manchester United in front of large crowds and sold out stadiums.
Their venture was so much a success, that another friendly has been arranged with the Red Devils this summer. The newly opened Croke Park in Dublin will host a 82,300 capacity crowd.
The stadium will be open for the first time since 2009 and it is expected to be sold out.
Leeds will play that game in August; something that was in doubt when the Whites were close to being relegated. If they had gone down to the Championship or won the FA Cup, the fixture would have been scrapped.
Leeds United land pre-season friendly
Alongside the game against Leeds United, Manchester United were set to face RB Liepzig. The friendly was set up after the Red Devils signed Benjamin Sesko from the Bundesliga side.
However, it is unfortunate that the match will not come off this summer.
Now, Leeds are set to step in and host the German side in England. The game could take place in the first week of August, per Leeds Live.
The Whites will travel to United States for preseason, and Liepzig will also travel to Austria. So the proposed game will take place around 8th August.
Leeds and Liepzig will face off just before the Whites travel to Ireland to face Manchester United.

Dispute with RB Liepzig seems to have been settled
In November 2022, the Court of Arbitration of Sport ordered Leeds to pay Leipzig £18.4 million for Jean-Kevin Augustin. The French striker joined the Whites in 2019 on loan.
He had an ‘obligation to buy’ clause in the deal, which Leeds disputed because the COVID pandemic disrupted the season.
But it looks like the relationship between the two clubs have been smoothened out since Red Bull became involved with the Leeds ownership.
Red Bull have a minority stake in the team, and currently are their front-of-shirt sponsor.
The match between Leeds United and RB Liepzig will be the latest pre-season game scheduled for the Whites. They will also face Wrexham in Tampa, Sunderland in New Jersey, and Liverpool at Soldier Field on their tour of the USA.
