Leeds United had very good recruitment in last summer’s transfer window. The club was able to bring in 10 new players to beef up the first team.
With the Whites returning to the Premier League, the 49ers splashed over £100 million to get these deals across the line. Instead of shopping in the Championship, they took a different approach.
They got top quality players on decent fees from Europe’s top leagues. Players like Anton Stach and Gabriel Gudmundsson arrived on very good deals.
But there was another side of the transfer window where Leeds were very poor at.
Last summer, the club saw 12 players leave. The issue was that out of this number, only two were permanent exits – the rest were loan deals.
Max Wober, Isaac Schmidt, Mateo Joseph, Joe Gelhardt and Largie Ramazani were among the players to depart on temporary deals.
European club keen on signing Leeds United star
Now that the season has ended, there is expectation that many of these players will return to the club in the summer. As things stand, most of the loan clubs are not keen on bringing these players back.
Joe Gelhardt looks the likeliest to leave Elland Road in the coming months, after Hull City won promotion to the Premier League. The Tiger’s Sporting Director has said the club is keen on a move.
And this week, Valencia are reportedly keen on a permanent move for Largie Ramazani. Per Tribuna Deportiva, the La Liga club have made key decisions on some transfers going into the summer.
The report claims that Valencia will only move for Ramazani if economic conditions are ‘favourable’.
Championship side Norwich City are also very keen on signing the Belgian winger, and are ready to pay a significant amount to sign him.

49ers should consider keeping Ramazani
There is now key interest from two clubs for the Belgian winger. And if Leeds are to sell him, they will want to recoup their £10 million outlay.
But the club need to consider keeping the 25-year old; he was signed as a hugely talented prospect last year. And even though his season was disrupted by injuries, he showed potential.
This season on loan at Valencia, he has proved he has what it takes in a league at a similar level to the Premier League.
Leeds’ wide options really struggled this year, outside Noah Okafor. Dan James was always injured, Wilfried Gnonto was not great and Jack Harrison left on loan in January.
Keeping Ramazani around could be a great option for Daniel Farke to call on next season.
